What’s So Great About the Si?
The Peg Perego Primo Viaggio infant car seats and Si Series travel system strollers offer style and incredible functionality along with unparalleled attention to safety. This particular travel system includes the Primo Viaggio car seat, the car seat base, as well as the Si stroller. The car seat weighs in at 18.2 pounds, while the Si strollers tips the scales at a scant 13.2 pounds. Considering Peg Perego’s ability to include added safety features in one of the lightest travel system strollers on the market, the Si and Primo Viaggio system are a wonderful unit to consider for everyday use.
The Primo Viaggio car seat is secured into the Si stroller unit using a patented strap system which helps to reduce some of the weight of the stroller itself. The Si also boasts 6.5 inches of suspension for each wheel as well as 12 ball bearings in the hubs of the stroller wheels, which offers an incredibly comfortable ride for your child and easy one-handed navigation for you as a parent.

What’s Not So Great?
For starters, the Si and Primo Viaggio combination is not the least expensive among travel system strollers on the market. The additional safety features and light weight of the stroller unit come at a bit of a premium. However, that being said there is some peace of mind knowing that your child has added protection when riding in the car.
Additionally, some parents have expressed concern about the straps used for fastening the car seat into the base. While they are considered to be a very safe method of securing the car seat, as parents many of us have become accustomed to the “click” of standard mechanical latching systems. Again, this is one of the features which helps to reduce some of the weight of the car seat to make it easier to manage, but it does take a little getting used to.
